Sebastiano Bagnara is chair of Cognitive Psychology at the Department of  Architecture and Urban Planning University of Sassari at Alghero.
He was General Secretary of International Ergonomics Association, Head of the Department of Communication Sciences at the University of Siena, chair of Cognitive Ergonomics and Psychology at Department of Design at the Politecnico of Milan, Director of the Institute of Psychology of the National Research Council, President of the European Association of Cognitive Ergonomics and of the Italian Society of Ergonomics.

He is member of a number of scientific and professional societies and of the editorial board of several international scientific journals. He is Associate Editor of Theoretical Issues in Ergonomic Sciences. He is the co-editor (with Gillian Crampton Smith) of the book “Theories and practice in interaction design”.
